Weekend Retreat
with Chris
“Insight Into Karma:
A Path of Mindfulness, Realization and Discovery”
Friday, Aug. 18th, 3:00pm - Sunday,
Aug. 20th, 3:00pm
at
Rolling Ridge Retreat Center
North Andover, MA
The Buddha taught that change is constantly occurring and impermanence is an all-pervasive truth behind all things that exist. He also taught that mindfulness is essential for us to more clearly perceive this truth both in ourselves and in the world around us on the search for awakening. This weekend retreat will explore the relationship between impermanence, the concept of karma in Buddhism, mindful communication, and working skillfully with the power of change on the path to realization. We will also consider our relationship with self, others, and the world as a means to live with a greater sense of harmony and freedom.
Rolling Ridge rests at the edge of Lake Cochichewick in North Andover, MA. The weekend will consist of talks, meditation, exercises in Mindful Communication, noble silence, movement, processing exercises, singing and chanting, and an outdoor evening concert by Satigata, all providing a deeply immersive experience of refuge, community, and inspiration for the path. Additional Mindful Communication session with Marie Rudzinsky. This retreat will be held both in-person and as a virtual event through Zoom. Registration deadline is Friday, July 28th. A Word about Covid 19: We are committed to providing a safe, anxiety-free gathering space as much as we are able during the weekend. In the rare chance we must cancel due to a Covid concern, participants will receive a full refund two weeks prior to the retreat. These protocols will also be important for participants to observe:
1) Please be fully vaccinated and boosted prior to the retreat.
2) A rapid antigen test (or PCR test) result must be negative on the first day of the retreat prior to gathering. (A limited number of rapid tests will be available at the Center for those who are unable to do so prior to arrival.)
3) If a participant is feeling unwell but still tests negative on the day of the retreat, we ask that you still wear a mask while in common spaces and in the main gathering hall.
4) Given that it will be August, we plan to keep windows and the french doors open in the main gathering hall for better ventilation.
We hope you can join us for this very special weekend!
